Happy Halloween! (tomorrow)

Bonjour!

Well Halloween is tomorrow, and while I have a party to attend, I still don’t have a costume! Time to get on that asap! I’m very excited about Halloween this year because one of my best friends will be coming into town tonight from Arizona, and combined with another great friend, there will be three of us formerly Alaskan ladies out on the town. Good times will abound.

Whatever your plans this holiday, I hope you have a safe, fun and great time!

Wishing you more treats than tricks!

Last's years Betty Grable inspired costume. Considering that this year, I'm in the freezing cold and snowy Rocky Mountains for Halloween, I believe I will pick something more climate appropriate: maybe a skier or an Eskimo. Brrrr!

Your Life, Your Style

Bonjour!

I hope you were able to catch last night’s episode of Your Life, Your Style live. This episode was all about the power of women connecting into great community – so if you didn’t get a chance to listen, you can replay the episode through the player in the margin, or by going to:

www.blogtalkradio.com/yourlifeyourstyle

Me and my co-host Catherine Cassidy, founder of U-Styled (www.ustyled.com) welcomed a great guest, Vanessa Torres, founder of That Happened to Me (www.thathappenedtome.com) and President of the West Coast branch of Single Women Rule (www.singlewomenrule.com). Vanessa is such a dynamic, talented, inclusive and amazing woman – I hope you’ll check out the show, check out her website and get some great ideas and insights on finding wonderful communities to be a part of outside your immediate girlfriends and family.

There is strength in numbers, so I highly recommend you check out this week’s episode and look for some inspiring, female communities to join forces with in your own life.

One of my greatest communities is my family. Here is Betty and me helping celebrate my baby bro's birthday a few years back. But for greatest strength and growth, try tapping into other communities for your spirit, your career and your interests!

Q and A session

Bonjour!

As I get ready to head into the weekend, I wanted to share two things with you. One, is a beautiful quote that I think pretty much sums up life for all of us. The second, is this past week’s Duchess Digest – on hope.

You can find this week’s Duchess Digest here:

As for the quote, Voila!

“There are years that ask questions and years that answer.” – Zora Neale Hurston

The Duchess waiting for the year that will answer her question (in the affirmative) when will I be a pilot?
