…Singing in the Rain.

Bonjour!

For those of you who know the Duchess or have followed the blog for a while, you know that SINGING IN THE RAIN is one of my all-time FAVORITE films. It’s a perfect film. Perfect acting, perfect writing, the cutest love story, fantastic acting… And oh my God the singing and dancing!

It just came up in conversation this morning and now I’ve got Gene Kelly and this perfect cinema moment on my brain.

What Tuesday morning doesn’t need a little laughing and singing in the rain…

Equine

Bonjour!

I love horses. So on a recent visit to one of the California Missions up the coast, you can imagine my delight at a fully operating mission, complete with livestock… And ponies.

This special guy was so sweet and gorgeous. He followed me along the fence line and I gladly obliged him with many scratches and lots of praise.

Was a beautiful (and Alaskan feeling) kind of day up past Santa Barbara, and these photos were just too great not to share.

Weekend Wedding

Bonjuor!

‘Tis the summer wedding season, and happily I attended my first of the summer. My friend and writing group colleague was married Saturday up at a beautiful lake in the hills of Malibu. Did you hear that right? A Lake in Malibu? That was exactly my reaction but it’s true. And I felt like I stepped back in time to my own childhood, where my family spent summers at our family cabin on the lake.

It was a beautiful event, with a really fun and mixed crowd (Kentucky people are my new favorites – they know how to live) and all in all, just a perfect Saturday. Gorgeous.
