I have been particularly blessed in the realm of nieces. For almost a decade, I had one special niece who is more a daughter to me than a daughter of my sister. She’s the coolest little kid on the block. Or rather now, the coolest little teenager (eek!). Then a few years ago my sister had another daughter at the same time my brother had his first… another niece! Three nieces! I’m the luckiest and proudest auntie in the world!
Since then, my brother’s had a son (a boy? I don’t know what to do with a nephew!) and my sister has two on the way – twins! I love these little ones and having them in my life is probably the only drawback to Alaska; I struggle being so far from these little ducklings of Oregon and Arizona.
So when my mom sent me this picture of my niece Jane, my brother’s fearless, animal loving daughter, I had to chuckle.
Remind you of anyone?
What could be better than nieces? Nieces and horses! I love that my little girls love ponies as much as their Auntie does – it’s something I hope to share with all of them as they grow and I can take them out on more adventures.
